Parking Lot Project Gets Underway!

As you know, the safety of our students and staff members is of the highest priority in the Magnolia School District and we are continually looking for ways to improve safety and to enhance our exceptional physical environment. One area that we are always looking to strengthen and enhance is efficient ingress, egress, parking capacity, and traffic flow.

The Magnolia School District Board took action at the September 17, 2020 Board meeting to begin work on the Dr. Peter Marshall parking lot.  After working with the architect, we found that we are in the position to add an additional 34 parking spaces to the existing lot and nearly double the length of the student drop off area.  This plan will meet all Department of State Architect requirements.

We are happy to report that the work to begin this exciting project is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 12, 2020 with a tentative completion date of November 2, 2020.

In addition to this leg of the project, we are currently working with the City of Anaheim.  It is our goal to make a large length of curbing along Magnolia Avenue a no parking zone and additional drop off zone.  These plans are currently in the development phase.

Thank you so much for your support and partnership.  We are all very pleased in knowing that the outcomes of this project will have a very positive benefit to our staff, students and families.

Sincerely,

Teali Fielder
Assistant Superintendent, Business Services
Magnolia School District
